RIL Becomes First Company to Surpass ₹10 Lakh Crore in Annual Revenue.

  • Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has achieved a historic milestone by recording a consolidated turnover of ₹10,00,122 crore for FY 2023-24, making it the first Indian company to surpass ₹10 lakh crore in annual revenue.
  • The company reported an EBITDA of ₹1,78,677 crore and a net profit of ₹79,020 crore during the same period.
  • RIL also recorded exports worth ₹2,99,832 crore.


Uttar Pradesh to Invest $4 Billion in Global Technology Hubs.

  • Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, plans to invest $4 billion to develop global technology hubs in five cities: Noida, Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, and Prayagraj.
  • Noida will become a hub for IT & ITeS
  • Lucknow will focus on AI and machine learning
  • Kanpur will specialize in drones and robotics
  • Varanasi and Prayagraj will be centers for Engineering Research and Development (ER&D).


Karnataka to Engage Influencers to Promote Government Schemes.

  • Influencers are categorized based on their followers:
    • Nano (1 lakh to 5 lakh)
    • Micro (5 lakh to 10 lakh)
    • Macro (above 10 lakh).
  • They will be used for brand ambassadorships, sponsored posts, and event promotions.
  • Eligible influencers and digital media entities must register with the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) to participate in these initiatives.


UN Launches Polio Vaccination Campaign in Gaza.

  • UN agencies have started a campaign to vaccinate 640,000 children against polio in Gaza, with localized pauses in fighting to facilitate the effort.
  • The campaign begins in central Gaza and includes planned eight-hour pauses over three consecutive days.
  • This initiative follows the discovery of a polio case in Gaza, the first in 25 years, and aims to prevent a wider outbreak.


UN Allocates $100 Million for Humanitarian Crises.

  • The UN has released $100 million from the Central Emergency Response Fund to address humanitarian emergencies in 10 countries.
  • Yemen - $20 million, Ethiopia - $15 million
  • Other funds include Myanmar ($12 million), Mali ($11 million), Burkina Faso ($10 million), Haiti ($9 million), Cameroon ($7 million), Mozambique ($7 million), Burundi ($5 million), and Malawi ($4 million).
