  • The Union Cabinet, approved the continuation of fortified rice supply under all government schemes, including PMGKAY, until December 2028.
  • The initiative, funded 100% by the Government of India, aims to address anaemia and micronutrient deficiencies through rice fortification.
  • Anaemia and micronutrient deficiencies remain significant health issues, as highlighted by NFHS-5.


UNFPA Honors India for Significant Progress in Maternal Health.
