NABARD Survey: Monthly Income of Rural Households Rises Over 57%.

  • The average monthly income of rural households increased by over 57% from ₹8,059 in 2016-17 to ₹12,698 in 2021-22.
  • Monthly expenditure also rose significantly, from over ₹6,600 to over ₹11,200 during the same period.
  • Average household savings rose to over ₹13,200, up from around ₹9,100.
  • Pension coverage also improved, increasing from nearly 19% to 23.5% of households.
