Dr Jitendra Singh Released Largest ICMR-India Diabetes Study for Jammu.

• Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister, and renowned diabetologist released Jammu region data from the world's largest ICMR-India Diabetes 'INDIAB' Study, revealing a diabetes prevalence of 18.9%, higher in urban (26.5%) than rural areas (14.5%).
• The government is establishing 1.5 lakh Health and Wellness Centres nationwide to focus on Non-Communicable Disease prevention.

New Zealand Wins Women's T20 World Cup 2024.

• New Zealand won their first Women's T20 World Cup by defeating South Africa by 32 runs.
• The final match took place at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
• NZ's Amelia Kerr secured the Player of the Tournament award. She scored 43 runs and took 3 wickets for 23 runs in the final.

Canara HSBC Life Insurance Launches "Promise4Future" Plan.

• Canara HSBC Life Insurance introduced Promise4Future, a Non-Linked, Participating plan offering both life protection and savings options tailored to modern consumers.
• The plan offers two variants: Savings4Future for growing savings with life protection, and Income4Future for generating a steady income stream with lump-sum payouts.

Maldives to Introduce UPI Following President Muizzu's Decision.

• Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu has initiated steps to introduce India's Unified Payment Interface in the Maldives.
• A consortium involving banks, telecom, state-owned, and fintech companies will oversee UPI's implementation, led by TradeNet Maldives Corporation Limited.
• India also launched the RuPay cards in the Maldives to enhance the ease of payments for Indian tourists visiting there.

Key Maritime Projects announced at 2nd Indian Lighthouse Festival.

• Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal dedicated key maritime projects, including the New Kalwan Lighthouse in Gujarat and infrastructure at Paradip Port, Odisha, during the 2nd Indian Lighthouse Festival.
• Sonowal announced two new lighthouses in Odisha's Chaumuck (Balasore) and Dhamra (Bhadrak), aimed at empowering coastal communities to preserve and promote lighthouses as tourist hubs.
