Govt Bans 18 OTT Platforms for Obscene Content.

• On March 14, 2024, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting banned 18 OTT platforms for publishing obscene, vulgar, and pornographic content.
• Platforms like Bolta Hindustan and National Dastak must adhere to the Press Council’s Norms of Journalistic Conduct and the Cable Television Programme Code.
• The action was based on the IT Rules, 2021.
