India, Mauritius decide to elevate ties to Enhanced Strategic Partners.

• India and Mauritius elevated their ties to an enhanced strategic partnership and inked eight pacts to boost cooperation in several sectors, including maritime security, and promote trade in local currencies.
• PM Modi announced India’s new vision for the Global South, naming it MAHASAGAR or Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth Across Regions.

Indian team makes doubly secure ink to thwart counterfeiting.

• Scientists from the Institute of Nano Science and Technology and the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre have made a new security ink using strontium bismuth fluoride (Sr2BiF7) nanoparticles.
• Currently available fluorescent inks are visible only under either ultraviolet light or infrared light but not both, the new ink stands out because it fluoresces in both.

J&K govt decides to allocate Rs 3 crore annually for MLA.

• Jammu and Kashmir government has decided to allocate 3 crore rupees annually for each Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) scheme.
• This decision will enable MLAs to recommend and oversee the implementation of key development projects in their constituencies.

PM: The first Indian to receive a highest civilian award of Mauritius.

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi has become the first Indian to receive a highest civilian award of Mauritius, Grand Commander of the Order of the Star and Key of the Indian Ocean.
• The honour also adds to PM Modi’s growing list of international accolades, making it the 21st such recognition.

Punjab Legislative Assembly launches searchable engine.

• Punjab Legislative Assembly has launched its searchable engine to access Punjab Assembly debates/proceedings from 1947 till date.
• With this initiative, the state assembly has become the first Vidhan Sabha in the country to start such a project.
• The searchable engine has been developed in collaboration with Punjabi University Patiala, IIIT Hyderabad and CDAC Noida.
