RBI Permits Minors Above 10 Years to Operate Bank Accounts Independent.

• The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has allowed minors above 10 years to open and operate savings/term deposit accounts independently, provided the accounts remain in a credit balance.
• Banks can offer additional services like internet banking, ATM cards, and cheque books, based on their risk management policies.
• The revised guidelines must be implemented by banks by July 1, 2025.

India Imposes 12% Safeguard Duty on Steel Imports Amid Dumping Fears.

• India has imposed a 12% safeguard duty on non-alloy and alloy steel flat products to counteract the surge in imports, following fears of dumping due to high US duties on Chinese goods.
• The decision follows an investigation by the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR), under the Ministry of Commerce, which identified a sharp rise in imports that could harm the domestic steel industry.

Air India SATS launches logistics park at Bengaluru airport.

• AISATS BLR Logistics Park, one of the largest on-airport logistics parks in South India, was inaugurated at Kempegowda International Airport.
• The logistics park was constructed with an investment of ₹ 200 crore by Air India SATS Airport Services Private Limited (AISATS), an airport services management company.
• The park is spread across eight acres within the airport.
