Delhi: South Asia's "largest" battery energy storage system.

• The Delhi Power Minister inaugurated a 20-MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at Kilokari, South Delhi.
• Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) are large-scale batteries used to store energy from renewable sources like solar and wind for later use.
• It is the largest utility-scale system in South Asia and India’s first commercially approved energy storage system.

Moscow Pushing To Revive The Russia-India-China Troika.

• Russia is actively pushing for the revival of the Russia-India-China (RIC) trilateral format, a strategic dialogue that has been largely dormant for nearly five years.
• Initiated in the late 1990s by former Russian Prime Minister Yevgeny Primakov, the RIC format was conceived as a strategic counterweight to Western dominance.
• The format lost momentum following the 2020 Galwan Valley incident.

India Finish Second with 24 Medals at Asian Athletics Championships'25.

• At the Asian Athletics Championships 2025 in Gumi, South Korea, India finished second in the medal tally with 24 medals.
• India clinched eight gold, 10 silver and six bronze in the Championships.
• In addition, Animesh Kujur and Parul Chaudhary set new National Records.
• China topped the standings.

• TCG CREST (The Chatterjee Group Centres for Research and Education in Science and Technology) in Kolkata awarded Deemed to be University status by the Ministry of Education.
• Becomes one of the first research-driven private universities in India.
• This initiative will make students of the new generation better equipped to address the dynamic needs of the job market in India.

Indian-American Faizan Zaki wins 2025 Scripps National Spelling Bee.

• Faizan Zaki, a 13-year-old Indian-American student from Texas, won the 2025 Scripps National Spelling Bee by correctly spelling eclaircissement in the 21st round.
• Zaki is only the fifth speller in Bee history to win after coming in second place the year before.
• The first Spelling Bee competition was held in 1925 in Washington, DC.
