• India’s defence exports reached ₹23,622 crore in 2024-25, marking a 34-fold increase compared to ₹686 crore in 2013-14, driven by Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India.
• The government has prioritized defence manufacturing, launching production-linked incentive (PLI) schemes and investing in defence hubs to boost global competitiveness.

India Sets Global Leadership Goals in 6G Development.

• Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, Minister of State for Communications and Rural Development, highlighted India's goal to lead in 6G technology at the Bharat 6G 2025 Conference.
• The Bharat 6G Vision, launched by PM Narendra Modi in 2023, aims to establish India as a global 6G pioneer by 2030 through research, alliances, and innovation.

Govt Allocates Additional Rice for Ethanol Production Under EBP Pro.

• The Government of India has allocated 2.8 million tonnes of rice at subsidized rates to support ethanol production, reducing excess stockpiles of Food Corporation of India (FCI).
• The move enhances energy security by cutting reliance on imported fossil fuels.
• The Ethanol Blended Petrol (EBP) programme aims to achieve 20% ethanol blending by 2025-26, up from 15% in 2024.

Justice Bhushan Ramkrishna Gavai Sworn In as India’s 52nd CJI.

• Justice Bhushan Ramkrishna Gavai has been appointed as India’s 52nd Chief Justice and is the first Buddhist to hold the position.

• The i-PRAGATI portal enables complainants to receive automated SMS updates on FIR progress, arrests etc.
