India among eight countries with half of world's unvaccinated children.

• India was among the eight countries where more than half the unvaccinated children from around the world lived as of 2023, an analysis published in The Lancet journal showed, emphasising persistent inequities.
• Providing global estimates of current vaccine coverage, the study found that the same year, there were 15.7 million children -- 1.44 million in India.

Amaravati to host India’s first Quantum Computing Valley.

• The first Quantum Computing Valley of India will be launched in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh by January 2026.
• The park is designed to employ lakhs of professionals, supporting research, innovation, and industrial growth.
• It will be accessible to states, government bodies, and institutions across India.
• The project aligns with the National Quantum Mission (NQM).

Shubhanshu Shukla becomes 1st Indian to set foot on ISS.

• India created history as the SpaceX Dragon spacecraft, carrying the Axiom-4 crew, including Indian Air Force Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, gently docked with the International Space Station (ISS).
• With this, India has an astronaut in space after 41 years.
• Lucknow-born Shukla is also the second Indian in space, following Rakesh Sharma’s flight in 1984.

2029 World Police & Fire Games to be held in Gujarat.

• Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel announced that the 2029 World Police & Fire Games (WPFG) will be held in the state as India has won the bid to host the championship.
• India has won the bid to host the 2029 World Police & Fire Games (WPFG) in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar & Ekta Nagar, following a comprehensive bid presentation to the WPFG Federation in Birmingham, USA.

Bihar to Get its First Nuclear Power Plant.

• Bihar is set to host its first nuclear power plant, making it one of the first six states to benefit from the Government of India’s National Nuclear Energy Mission.
• The announcement comes as part of a broader push to diversify India’s energy mix, strengthen regional energy security, and integrate advanced technologies like Small Modular Reactors (SMRs).
