World’s first-ever malaria drug for new borns approved.

• The world’s first-ever malaria treatment suitable for babies and very young children has been approved for use.
• Drug manufacturer Novartis has received approval from Swiss authorities for its new malaria drug named Coartem.
• Most malaria-related deaths are recorded on the African continent.
• Malaria accounted for more than half a million deaths worldwide in 2023.

UAE slashed golden visa fee for Indians.

• The United Arab Emirates government has introduced a pilot nomination-based golden visa programme for residents of India and Bangladesh.
• Under the new nomination-based visa policy, Indians can now enjoy lifetime residency in the UAE by paying a fee of AED 1,00,000 (approximately INR 23.30 lakh).
• It is aimed at enhancing business and economic growth.

RCB dethrones CSK to become IPL's most valuable franchise.

• After their maiden victory in the 18th Indian Premier League (IPL), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have ousted Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to become the most valuable IPL franchisee at $269 million.
• CSK, which dominated the brand valuation chart for more than three years, slipped to the third slot at $235 million.
• Mumbai Indians followed closely in second place with a value of $242 million.

Haryana to Develop Asia’s Largest Jungle Safari.

• On July 6, 2025, Haryana announced plans for Asia’s biggest jungle safari.
• It will be built in the Aravalli Hills.
• The safari will cover around 10,000 acres of forest.
• The aim is to protect wildlife and nature.
• It will also help increase tourism.
• The project will create jobs for local people.
• It’s an important step for eco-friendly development.

• Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare & Rural Development inaugurated the 11th edition of the India Maize Summit.

• Maize, often known as Indian corn, is globally called the queen of cereals due to its highest genetic yield potential.
• In India, it is the third most important food crop after rice and wheat.
