Centre plans "battery passport" to boost EV safety, quality & exports.

  • India is planning to implement its own Battery Passport regime.
  • The Battery Passport will digitally record key specifications of each battery.
  • All this data will be embedded in a QR code on each battery.
  • It will serve as a unique ID for each battery—similar to Aadhaar, but for battery identity.
  • NITI Aayog is coordinating with ministries and government departments to create the framework.


Govt unveils Draft Petroleum & Natural Gas Rules 2025.

  • The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas released the Draft Petroleum & Natural Gas Rules, 2025, which aims modernisation of India’s upstream oil and gas framework.
  • These rules will replace the Petroleum Concession Rules (1949) and Petroleum and Natural Gas Rules (1959).
  • The Rules Focus on Investor Stability, Ease of Business and Decarbonisation.


India, Namibia sign 4 MoUs to deepen economic partnership.

  • India and Namibia signed MoUs in the fields of Health and Medicine, Entrepreneurship Development, and Bilateral Cooperation.
  • An Entrepreneurship Development Center will be set up in Namibia.
  • An announcement was made to launch a Digital Payments system in Namibia.
  • Namibia is the first country where NPCI signed a technology agreement with a central bank for implementing a UPI-like system.


PM Modi conferred with Namibia’s highest civilian award.

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi was conferred Namibia’s highest civilian award:
  • Order of the Most Ancient Welwitschia Mirabilis.
  • The award recognises his contributions to strengthening India–Namibia bilateral ties.
  • This is Modi’s 27th international award.
  • Modi’s Namibia stop marks the final leg of a five-nation tour that includes Ghana, Argentina, Brazil, and Trinidad and Tobago.


Indian Navy inducts "Nistar", first indigenous diving support vessel.

  • The Indian Navy inducted its first indigenously designed and built Diving Support Vessel (DSV), named Nistar.
  • The ship was handed over by Hindustan Shipyard Limited in a ceremony at Visakhapatnam.
  • It is designed for Deep Sea Diving and Rescue Operations, a capability held by only a few navies worldwide.
  • The name Nistar, derived from Sanskrit, means liberation, rescue, or salvation.
