"Maratha Military Landscapes" inscribed on UNESCO World Heritage List.

• The Maratha Military Landscapes have been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
• This was decided during the 47th session of the World Heritage Committee (WHC) held in Paris.
• The landscapes were developed between the 17th and 19th centuries.
• The listing includes 12 components, showcasing strategic military power across varied geographical and physiographic regions.

Uttarakhand to launch "Operation Kalanemi" against fake saints.

• Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has launched Operation Kalanemi.
• The operation targets fake saints who cheat people and misuse religion, particularly targeting women.
• Its objective is to protect the dignity of true religious teachings and maintain social harmony.
• The name Kalanemi comes from a demon in Hindu mythology who misled people by dressing as a saint.

Government to extend validity of infra projects cleared under IPZ.

• The Union Environment Ministry has issued a new notification amending rules under the Islands Protection Zone (IPZ) Notification, 2011.
• The IPZ Notification, 2011 is a legal framework under the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986.
• It aims to regulate and protect coastal and marine ecosystems of India’s islands, especially the Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep.

IAF & DRDO, successfully test-fire BVRAAM Astra Missile in Odisha.

• The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Indian Air Force (IAF) have successfully flight-tested the indigenous Astra missile.
• The missile is a Beyond Visual Range Air-to-Air Missile (BVRAAM).
• The test was conducted from a Sukhoi-30 Mk-I aircraft over Odisha.
• Astra missile has a range of over 100 km and is equipped with state-of-the-art guidance and navigation system.

Govt plans to roll out over Rs 1,000 cr subsidy scheme.

• The Government of India is planning a ₹1,345 crore subsidy scheme to promote domestic production of rare earth magnets. Inter-ministerial consultations are currently underway.
• The scheme aims to offer end-to-end support for converting rare earth oxides into magnets.
• It will help establish processing facilities for companies involved in this conversion.
