Maharashtra’s first glass bridge opens over Napne waterfall.

• A glass bridge was recently inaugurated over the Napne Waterfall in Maharashtra.
• The inauguration was done by a Maharashtra state minister.
• The project is part of the Sindhuratna Tourism Scheme, which aims to promote lesser-known tourist destinations in the state.
• Napne Waterfall: Located near Nadhavade village in the Konkan region.
• It is a perennial waterfall (flows throughout the year).

Divya Deshmukh becomes third Women’s World Cup Champion.

• Divya Deshmukh, a 19-year-old International Master from Nagpur, Maharashtra, has won the 2025 FIDE Women’s World Cup.
• She defeated Grandmaster Humpy Koneru with a score of 1.5–0.5 in the tiebreaks.
• Divya becomes only the third-ever winner of the Women’s World Cup, after: Alexandra Kosteniuk (2021) and Aleksandra Goryachkina (2023).
• With this win, Divya secures the USD 50,000 first prize.

MoD, TIDCO ink MoU to establish ₹400 crore testing facility.

• The Ministry of Defence (MoD) signed an MoU with Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation Ltd. (TIDCO).
• Objective: To set up a state-of-the-art testing facility in the Mechanical and Material domain.
• Location: Tiruchirappalli, within the Tamil Nadu Defence Industrial Corridor (TNDIC).
• The project is part of the Defence Testing Infrastructure Scheme (DTIS).

SC Takes Suo Motu Cognisance of Fatal Stray Dog Attacks on Infants.

• The Supreme Courttook suo motu cognisance of a news report highlighting a rise in fatal stray dog attacks on infants in Delhi.
• The Apex Court registered a writ petition, focusing on the growing threat posed by unvaccinated stray dogs, particularly to infants, children, and the elderly, who are increasingly falling victim to rabies.
