UP set to produce cloth and bioplastic from cow dung.

  • The Uttar Pradesh government launched a new initiative.
  • It aims to convert cow dung (from stray cattle) into sustainable products.
  • Around 54 lakh kg of cow dung is generated daily.
  • Products include bioplastics, bio-polymers, bio-textiles, eco-friendly clothing, paper, biogas, compost, and nanocellulose.
  • The initiative supports the Har Gaon Urja Kendra model.


"Station" in Ladakh begins research to simulate life on Moon, Mars.

  • Protoplanet, a Bengaluru-based space outreach organisation, has launched the HOPE station.
  • HOPE stands for Human Outer Planetary Exploration.
  • Located in Ladakh’s Tso Kar basin, simulating Moon and Mars conditions.
  • The station mimics off-Earth terrain and environment.
  • Supported technically and financially by ISRO.


Indigenously-Built 1 MW Green Hydrogen Plant Commissioned at Kandla.

  • India commissioned its first indigenously developed 1 MW green hydrogen plant.
  • Located at Deendayal Port Authority (DPA), Kandla.
  • It is part of a larger 10 MW project to enable clean maritime operations.
  • This is the first green hydrogen facility at any Indian port.
  • A fully Make-in-India initiative, led by Indian engineers.
  • Executed by DPA in collaboration with Larsen & Toubro (L&T).


Double Olympic champion Laura Dahlmeier passes away.

  • Laura Dahlmeier, a German biathlon legend, passed away at age 31 in a mountaineering accident in Pakistan’s Karakoram range.
  • She was climbing Laila Peak (6,069 m) and was caught in a rockfall at around 5,700 m altitude.
  • A double Olympic champion and seven-time world champion in biathlon.
  • Debuted in the IBU World Cup in 2012–13, aged 19.


MCA: Gavaskar, Sharad Pawar to be honoured with life-size statues.

  • Sunil Gavaskar (legendary batter) and Sharad Pawar (former BCCI President) will be honoured with life-size statues.
  • The statues will be placed at the entrance of the new Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) museum.
  • The museum is named MCA Sharad Pawar Cricket Museum.
  • Located at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
  • The museum is a tribute to Mumbai’s cricketing heritage and its legendary figures.
