India launches National Biofoundry Network to boost bioeconomy.

• India launched its first National Biofoundry Network (NBN) under the BioE3 Policy, targeting a $300 billion bioeconomy by 2030.
• The initiative was unveiled by Union Science & Technology Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh.
• The NBN is a collaborative platform comprising six leading biotechnology institutions, aimed at translating biotech research into market-ready solutions.

India and Bhutan sign MoU to boost cooperation in agriculture sector.

• India and Bhutan have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation in agriculture and livestock development.
• The MoU was signed in Thimphu, reaffirming the strong bilateral partnership.
• The agreement aims to address food security, sustainable agriculture, and rural development in both nations.

BioFach India 2025 to Feature Over 27 North-Eastern FPOs.

• BioFach India 2025 will be held at the India Expo Centre and Mart, Greater Noida.
• Over 27 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) from the North-Eastern Region will showcase organic products under the Mission Organic Value Chain Development.
• The event will bring together organic producers, buyers, businesses, policymakers, and stakeholders to discuss the future of the organic sector.

Foreigners too Have the Right to Liberty under Article 21: High Court.

• The Punjab and Haryana High Court granted bail to a Bangladeshi woman accused of forgery and illegal stay, ruling that Article 21’s right to personal liberty applies to foreigners.
• Article 21 of the Constitution of India guarantees the fundamental right to protection of life and personal liberty except by a procedure established by law.

DoP partners with geospatial firm for DIGIPIN mapping and services.

• Department of Posts (DoP) signed an MoU with a private geospatial software company for the DIGIPIN initiative.
• The company will provide mapping platform and base maps for the Know Your DIGIPIN application.
• This integration will enhance user visibility and ensure accurate generation of DIGIPINs based on geographic location.
