India records highest-ever 1.7 lakh road deaths in 2023: MoRTH report.

• MoRTH’s 2023 report shows road accidents in India grew 4.2% year-on-year in 2023.
• Fatal accidents rose 3.04%, making up 33.4% of total crashes.
• Young adults (18–45) formed 66.4% of deaths; 2-wheeler users 44.8%.
• Key causes: overspeeding (68%), wrong-side driving, distractions, drunk driving.
• Poor roads, vehicle defects & no safety gear worsened fatalities.

India’s Q1 FY26 GDP grows 7.8%, fastest pace in five quarters.

• Q1 FY26 GDP grew 7.8%, up from 7.4% in Q4 FY25 & 6.5% in Q1 FY25.
• Nominal GDP growth stood at 8.8% in April–June 2025.
• Agriculture GVA rose 3.7% vs 1.5% last year.
• Manufacturing grew 7.7%, Construction 7.6%; Govt spending surged 9.7%.
• Gross Fixed Capital Formation rose 7.8%; private consumption slowed to 7%.
