APEDA Opens First Bihar Office to Boost Agri-Exports.

• Piyush Goyal inaugurated the Agricultural & Processed Food Products Export Development Authority’s first regional office in Patna during the Bihar Idea Festival to enhance exporter access, registration, and market support.
• The office aims to integrate Bihar’s farmers with global markets, reducing reliance on APEDA’s Varanasi office and speeding up services.

India Reaches 250 GW Non-Fossil Fuel Power Capacity.

• India’s non-fossil fuel power capacity surged to 250 GW in 2025 from 81 GW in 2014, as announced by Minister Pralhad Joshi.
• The capacity includes 123.13 GW solar, 52.68 GW wind, 55.22 GW hydro, 11.60 GW bio-energy, and 8.78 GW nuclear energy.
• This milestone strengthens India’s path toward its 500 GW renewable energy target by 2030, boosting its global clean energy leadership.

IIM Ahmedabad Opens First Overseas Campus in Dubai.

• Crown Prince of Dubai Sheikh Hamdan inaugurated the first-ever overseas campus of IIM Ahmedabad in Dubai, marking a milestone in India’s education globalisation.
• Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan called it a symbol of being Indian in spirit, global in outlook, strengthening India–UAE knowledge ties.

India Joins 4th Coast Guard Global Summit in Rome.

• Indian Coast Guard took part in the 4th Coast Guard Global Summit (CGGS) in Rome & announced its bid to host the 5th CGGS in India in 2027.
• DG Paramesh Sivamani led the delegation & presented on ICG’s fire emergency response, showcasing India’s maritime safety expertise.
• The summit focused on maritime safety, environmental protection, countering crimes & global ocean security collaboration.

Insurance Surety Bonds Cross ₹10,000 Cr Milestone.

• NHAI announced that issuance of Insurance Surety Bonds (ISBs) for its contracts has crossed ₹10,369 crore as of July 2025.
• ISBs, introduced in 2022 as an alternative to bank guarantees, are issued by insurance firms as bid and performance security.
• With India’s infrastructure growth, bank guarantee demand is projected to rise 6–8% annually, boosting the adoption of ISBs.
