• Located at the Vaikuntam Queue Complex, the centre is designed to optimize pilgrim comfort and safety, especially during peak seasons.

IIT-Madras Nominated as UN Centre of Excellence for AI.

• IIT-Madras has been nominated as a UN Centre of Excellence (CoE) for AI, strengthening India’s global leadership in AI development.
• This move is part of India’s broader mission to bridge the AI skills gap and promote ethical AI governance across the Global South.
• India’s AI Mission aims to skill 10 million people annually, deploy 38,000 GPUs, and host 300 open-source AI models.

Dr. S. Jaishankar Hosts FIPIC Foreign Ministers' Meeting in New York.

• External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar hosted a meeting of the foreign ministers of the Forum for India-Pacific Islands Cooperation (FIPIC) in New York.
• FIPIC, launched by India in 2014, includes 14 Pacific Island Countries (PICs): Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu.

India, Australia Sign Organic Products Mutual Recognition Arrangement.

• India and Australia signed a Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) for organic products under the India-Australia Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement (ECTA).
• The MRA allows mutual acceptance of organic certification standards, simplifying processes and enhancing market access for certified producers in both countries.
