Viksit Bharat Run 2025 Held Globally in Over 100 Countries.
- The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, in collaboration with MEA, organised the Viksit Bharat Run 2025 across 100+ countries as part of Seva Pakhwada.
- First-ever global edition of the run, under the tagline Run to Serve the Nation, featured 3–5 km community runs at iconic locations worldwide.
- Participants took the Viksit Bharat Pledge and Aatmanirbhar Bharat Pledge.
Himachal cold desert enters UNESCO biosphere reserve.
- The Cold Desert Biosphere Reserve in Himachal Pradesh has been inducted into the UNESCO World Network of Biosphere Reserves at the World Congress of Biosphere Reserves, Hangzhou, China.
- The reserve spans 7,770 sq. km in the Western Himalayas.
- First designated a national biosphere reserve in 2009, it now becomes India’s 13th site in the UNESCO global network.
Mithun Manhas Elected Unopposed as 37th BCCI President.
- Former Delhi captain Mithun Manhas has been elected unopposed as the BCCI president at the 94th annual general meeting.
- He succeeds Roger Binny, who stepped down in August 2025, with Rajeev Shukla serving as interim vice-president.
- Manhas had a 20-year domestic cricket career (1997–2017), playing 157 first-class matches (9714 runs), 130 List A matches (4126 runs), and 91 T20s (1170 runs).
UP to Host Statewide Eight-Day Trade Shows Promoting Khadi and MSMEs.
- Uttar Pradesh government announced eight-day trade shows across all 75 districts from October 9–16.
- Announcement made by Khadi and Village Industries during the UP International Trade Show (UPITS) in Greater Noida.
- Trade shows will include entrepreneurs from Khadi, textiles, and One District One Product (ODOP) sectors, expanding from previous divisional-level events.
Bihar: ₹2,330 Crore Development Projects in Gopalganj and Vaishali.
- Chief Minister Nitish Kumar launched development projects worth Rs 2,330 crore in Gopalganj and Vaishali districts.
- The CM unveiled projects worth Rs 1,585.59 crore at an event held at Sabeya Airport Field in Gopalganj.
- Of these, 124 schemes worth Rs 1,295.85 crore were for foundation laying, and 61 projects with Rs 289.74 crore were inaugurated.
