• Masaki Kashiwara, a Japanese mathematician, was awarded the Abel Prize 2025 for his groundbreaking contributions to algebraic analysis and representation theory.
• He pioneered the theory of D-modules, an algebraic framework to study systems of linear partial differential equations (PDEs).
• The Abel Prize is a prestigious international award, often considered the Nobel Prize of mathematics.

India’s First Semiconductor Innovation Museum Opens at Hyderabad.

• The Semiconductor Innovation Museum was inaugurated in Hyderabad by the Technology Chip Innovation Program (T-Chip).

NITI: Report on India’s Blue Economy and Deep Sea Fisheries Strategy.

• B. V. R. Subrahmanyam, CEO of NITI Aayog, launched a report titled India’s Blue Economy: Strategy for Harnessing Deep Sea and Offshore Fisheries.
• A three-phase roadmap has been proposed to enhance governance of deep-sea and offshore fisheries, starting with foundation-laying, followed by scaling operations, and ultimately achieving global leadership in sustainable deep-sea fisheries.

Maldives: Achieve Triple Elimination of Mother-to-Child Transmission.

• Maldives has become the first country to achieve triple elimination of mother-to-child transmission of hepatitis B, HIV, and syphilis, validated by the World Health Organization (WHO).
• In Maldives, over 95% of pregnant women receive antenatal care, with nearly universal testing for HIV, syphilis, and hepatitis B.

Civil Aviation Minister Launches "Fare Se Fursat".

• Rammohan Naidu Kinjarapu, Civil Aviation Minister, launched the Fare Se Fursat initiative to provide passengers with fixed airfares, eliminating the stress of fluctuating prices.
• The scheme, introduced by Alliance Air.
• The initiative will be tested on a pilot basis until the end of the year across select routes to assess its feasibility and passenger response.
