New RAD52 Protein Discovery Offers Hope for Cancer Therapies.

• University of Iowa researchers uncovered an unexpected structure of the DNA repair protein RAD52, key to cancer cell survival with DNA repair deficiencies like BRCA1/2 mutations.
• RAD52 inhibitors can selectively kill cancer cells while minimizing radiation and chemotherapy toxicity, similar to PARP inhibitors but may overcome resistance issues.

IEPFA–SEBI Host Niveshak Shivir in Amritsar to Empower Investors.

• IEPFA and SEBI jointly held the Niveshak Shivir in Amritsar to empower investors through single-window facilitation for unclaimed dividends, shares, and KYC updates.
• Over 223 investors benefited from direct RTA access and on-spot claim support.
• The Investor Education and Protection Fund Authority (IEPFA) comes under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India.

Vishvajit Sahay Assume Charge as Controller General of Defence Account.

• Shri Vishvajit Sahay (IDAS, 1990 batch) assumed charge as Controller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA) on 01 Nov 2025, bringing 30+ years of defence finance experience.
• An alumnus of St. Stephen’s College, he earlier served as Additional Secretary & Financial Adviser, DST, and Finance Manager, MoD.
• Has held key Defence Accounts roles and represented India internationally.

Sohra Tourism Circuit Launched Under PM-DevINE PM-DevINE Scheme.

• Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia laid foundation for Integrated Sohra Tourism Circuit in Meghalaya, launching ₹233 crore worth DoNER projects.
• ₹650 crore project aims to make Sohra (Cherrapunji) a model for sustainable tourism.
• Highlighted ₹6.2 lakh crore Northeast investments, major projects like the Shillong–Silchar Expressway, Umroi Airport expansion, and New Shillong City initiative.
