- India and Nepal have started the 19th edition of Exercise Suryakiran in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand, strengthening bilateral military cooperation.
- Exercise Suryakiran, launched in 2011, is held annually on a reciprocal basis between the Indian Army and the Nepal Army.
- The 18th edition of the exercise took place in Saljhandi, Nepal, continuing the tradition of alternating locations each year.
