81% Rural Households Receive Tap Water Under Jal Jeevan Mission.

• Over 157.5 million of 193.6 million rural households (81.36%) now have tap water connections under Jal Jeevan Mission up from 17% at launch.
• Thamirabarani river BOD levels show improvement; fluoride levels in Katni district within safe limits.
• Tamil Nadu expanded mangrove restoration under MISHTI, while India generated 13.9 lakh tons of e-waste in 2024–25, with over 11.5 lakh tons recycled.

Maharashtra Mandates 5–7% Bamboo Biomass in Coal Plants.

• State orders all thermal power plants to co-fire 5–7% bamboo biomass/charcoal under 2025 Bamboo Industry Policy to cut emissions & diversify energy mix.
• Backed by ₹1,534 cr plan for 2025–30 and ₹11,797 cr incentives over 20 years to boost bamboo markets & employment.

WHO Issues First Guideline on GLP-1 Obesity Treatment.

• WHO releases first clinical guideline for GLP-1 drugs like semaglutide & tirzepatide for chronic obesity management; added to Essential Medicines List in 2025.
• Recommends medicines with lifestyle changes—diet, activity & long-term care; not advised in pregnancy due to limited data.
• Obesity affects 1 billion+ people, causing 3.7 million deaths in 2024.

India Sets Up Field Hospital in Sri Lanka Under Op Sagar Bandhu.

• India establishes fully operational field hospital at Mahiyanganaya, Sri Lanka, for trauma care & emergency treatment amid Cyclone Ditwah relief.
• IAF C-17s deliver Bailey bridges, with 25-member team including engineers & medics aiding connectivity restoration.
• Mission continues lifesaving support as Sri Lanka reports heavy casualties & ongoing rescue needs.

Delhi Launches Mist Spray System for Pollution Control.

• Delhi CM Rekha Gupta unveiled pole-mounted mist sprayers at ITO; 35 poles equipped, plan to expand to 305 poles across nine pollution hotspots.
• Each pole uses treated water via 30 spray points, with setups also active on Shanti Path and Lodhi Road.
• Delhi Govt is treating pollution as an emergency mission, pushing public participation and citywide rollout.
