Responsible Nations Index to Debut as Global Governance Metric.

  • The World Intellectual Foundation along with JNU, IIM Mumbai, and Dr. Ambedkar International Centre (DAIC), will launch India’s first Responsible Nations Index on 19 January 2026.
  • The Index assesses governance, social well-being, environment, and global responsibility covering 154 countries.
  • It aims to foster global dialogue on ethics, sustainability, and responsible leadership.


Tripura Gramin Bank rolls out India’s first solar ATM van.

  • Tripura Gramin Bank became India’s first Gramin Bank to launch a solar-powered ATM van, boosting green and inclusive banking.
  • The innovation won the SKOCH Silver Award for governance and innovation, hailed as a proud milestone for Tripura.
  • With 150 branches, the bank now runs three solar ATM vans, improving rural access; the first was inaugurated by FM Nirmala Sitharaman in 2023.


Odisha to launch India’s first CKD patient registry.

  • Odisha plans to roll out India’s first state-wide chronic kidney disease registry by March 31 to track prevalence and plan interventions.
  • A task force and technical panel with AIIMS, ICMR, and NIC support will ensure reporting from PHCs to medical colleges.
  • The state reports nearly 19,900 CKD cases and 4,718 deaths in three years, with diabetes and hypertension driving 60% of cases.


MIB, PSA & Netflix Launch "Inspiring Innovators" Drive.

  • The Ministry of I&B and Office of PSA, in collaboration with Netflix Fund for Creative Equity, concluded Inspiring Innovators – Naye Bharat Ki Nayi Pehchaan.
  • The initiative featured 8 start-ups through animated films created by students from leading institutes.
  • It provided hands-on skilling, mentoring, and industry exposure to 26 students, promoting creative equity and innovation.


Rajasthan’s Bamanwas Kankar becomes first fully organic panchayat.

  • Bamanwas Kankar in Kotputli–Behror became Rajasthan’s first panchayat certified as fully organic, covering seven hamlets.
  • Chemical-free farming, organic livestock practices and inputs like vermicompost are restoring soil health and groundwater.
  • Supported by COFED, the move has improved biodiversity, farmer incomes and access to premium markets through sustainable agriculture.
