Maharashtra and Prasar Bharati to Create Mumbai Media Hub.

  • Maharashtra government approved an Integrated Film and Television Media Hub in Mumbai in collaboration with Prasar Bharati.
  • The project will be developed on 150 acres of All India Radio (AIR) land in Malad, Mumbai.
  • A Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) will be jointly formed by the Maharashtra Government and Prasar Bharati for implementation.
  • The hub will feature modern film studios, sound stages, IT/ITES facilities, tourism projects, and international-standard film and music training centres.
  • The project aims to utilize surplus AIR land created by the transition to FM broadcasting.


Chumur Becomes Ladakh’s 1st Model Border Village Under VVP.

  • Foundation stone laid for Ladakh’s first Model Border Village at Chumur under the Vibrant Village Programme.
  • Located at 16,700 feet altitude along the Indo–China border.
  • Chumur is the first of 10 border villages to be developed as Model Border Villages in the first phase.
  • Focus areas include infrastructure development, livelihood generation, civil-defence integration, and all-weather connectivity.
  • Climate-resilient passive solar houses will be built to withstand temperatures as low as –35°C.
  • The project aims to promote Pashmina-based livelihoods and integrate Chumur into the Korzok–Hanle tourism circuit.
  • Residential units are expected to be completed by September 2026.


BHEL Secures ₹2,000 Crore Contract from Nigeria’s Dangote Refinery.

  • Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited secured an international contract worth ₹2,000–2,500 crore from Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals Free Zone Enterprise.
  • The contract covers the design, manufacturing, supply, and commissioning support of eight gas turbine generator packages.
  • The equipment will be used in the Dangote refinery and polypropylene plant located in Nigeria’s Dangote Industries Free Zone.
  • The project is scheduled for completion within 26 months.
  • BHEL is a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Heavy Industries and India's largest engineering and manufacturing enterprise in the energy and infrastructure sectors.


Navachar Mantra Launched by MSDE to Empower Grassroots Innovation.

  • The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship launched Navachar Mantra, a national initiative to support grassroots innovators and early-stage entrepreneurs.
  • Implemented by National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development, with Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer as the technical knowledge partner.
  • Focuses on innovators from Tier-2, Tier-3 towns, rural areas, and Aspirational Districts.
  • Priority sectors include Agritech, HealthTech, EdTech, Skilling, Climate & Sustainability, Rural Commerce, and MSME Enablement.
  • Selected participants will receive year-long mentorship, investor interactions, IP guidance, fundraising support, and scaling assistance.
  • Applications are open until 5 July 2026 through a dedicated digital platform.
