Google Enters $920 Million Monthly Computing Agreement With SpaceX.

  • Google signed a Cloud Service Agreement with SpaceX on 5 June 2026.
  • The deal is valued at $920 million per month and runs from October 2026 to June 2029.
  • It provides large-scale computing capacity using around 110,000 NVIDIA GPUs and related infrastructure.
  • The infrastructure will support Google’s AI platform (Gemini Enterprise).
  • The agreement includes a termination option after 31 December 2026 with 90 days’ notice.
  • SpaceX also has major parallel cloud deals, including with other AI companies, making it a key global compute provider.


Panchayat Advancement Index Wins Gold at National Awards for e-Governance 2026.

  • The Ministry of Panchayati Raj’s Panchayat Advancement Index (PAI) won the Gold Award at the National Awards for e-Governance 2026.
  • It was recognised under digital transformation using data analytics category.
  • The award highlights PAI 2.0, which evaluates over 2.6 lakh Gram Panchayats using a data-driven framework.
  • The index is based on multiple indicators and assesses rural governance performance across key development themes.
  • The award includes a trophy, citation, and ₹10 lakh cash prize.


Recognition for Chhattisgarh’s M-CAD Initiative on Irrigation Efficiency.

  • The Ministry of Jal Shakti commended Chhattisgarh’s M-CAD (Modernisation of Command Area Development and Water Management) initiative on 6 June 2026.
  • The model was recommended for adoption by all States and Union Territories to improve irrigation efficiency.
  • The initiative aims to enhance water-use efficiency, scientific water management, and irrigation capacity expansion.
  • It was implemented using state-owned resources, without external funding support.


UPERC Approves Electricity Purchase From Tata Power’s Bhutan Hydro Project.

  • The Uttar Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission approved electricity procurement from the 511 MW Khorluchu Hydro Power Project in Bhutan on 6 June 2026.
  • Power will be supplied at a flat tariff of ₹6.75 per unit under a 30-year agreement.
  • The project is a joint venture between Druk Green Power Corporation (60%) and Tata Power (40%).
  • The broader hydropower development plan aims for 1,125 MW capacity in Bhutan with an investment of about ₹6,900 crore.
