- The decision was taken after consultation with the Drugs Technical Advisory Board (DTAB).
- The notification was issued under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940.
- The move is expected to improve pharmaceutical logistics, facilitate drug imports, and enhance the Ease of Doing Business.
