Sameer Kanodia Named Among India’s Top 50 CEOs for 2026.

• Sameer Kanodia was named among India’s Top 50 CEOs, MDs, and Founders 2026 by the Great Manager Institute (GMI).
• This is the second consecutive year he has received the recognition.
• He was honoured for outstanding leadership, team development, and business excellence.
• Sameer Kanodia is the Vice Chairman and CEO of Lumina Datamatics and TNQTech.

Uttarakhand Launches Science, Technology and Innovation Policy 2026.

• CM Pushkar Singh Dhami launched the Uttarakhand Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) Policy 2026 on June 11, 2026.
• The policy aims to make Uttarakhand a hub for science, technology, innovation, and research.
• The Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology (UCOST) is the nodal implementing agency.
• It focuses on emerging technologies such as AI, Blockchain, Robotics, Drones, Space Technology, and Nanotechnology.
• The policy proposes Science Cities, Planetariums, Atal Tinkering Labs, and modern Teaching-Learning Centres.
• It also includes an STI Observatory and integration with the One Nation, One Subscription initiative for research access.

Petronas Signs 20-Year LNG Supply Agreement with Japan’s JERA.

• Malaysia’s Petronas signed a 20-year LNG supply agreement with Japan’s JERA.
• Petronas will supply 2 million tonnes of LNG annually from 2028.
• The deal aims to strengthen Japan’s energy security and long-term LNG supply.
• Both countries also agreed to promote trade in local currencies (Malaysian Ringgit and Japanese Yen).
• The partnership includes cooperation in critical minerals, AI, semiconductors, and defence.

Reliance, Meta Collaborate on First AI Data Centre in Jamnagar.

• Meta partnered with Reliance Industries to establish its first AI-enabled data centre in Jamnagar, Gujarat.
• The data centre will have an initial capacity of 168 MW and is expected to be completed within two years.
• The project will be developed by Reliance, while Meta will lease the infrastructure.
• It will run on renewable energy and use desalinated seawater for cooling.
• The venture is backed by an ₹855 crore investment, with Reliance (70%) and Meta (30%) equity participation.

$120 Billion Adaptation Finance Sought by Health Groups at Bonn Climate Talks.

• The Bonn Climate Conference (SB64) began on June 8, 2026, to discuss climate finance and fossil fuel transition.
• The Global Climate and Health Alliance (GCHA) urged increasing adaptation finance to $120 billion by 2035.
• Negotiators started work on implementing the 59 Belém Adaptation Indicators adopted at COP30.
• The conference stressed aligning national energy transition plans with the 1.5°C climate goal.
• SB64 serves as a preparatory meeting for COP31 to be held in Antalya, Türkiye.
