BIS to Introduce India’s 1st Standards for Mangrove Restoration.
- Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) finalized the draft of India’s first national guidelines for mangrove ecosystem restoration.
- The guidelines aim to standardize mangrove restoration across India’s coastal regions.
- They promote eco-friendly plantation practices, including the use of biodegradable bags instead of polythene.
- The guidelines also support local livelihoods through fruit-bearing trees and propose carbon credits to improve economic viability.
- The standards are currently voluntary, with efforts underway to make them mandatory.
Submer Group Announces $2 Billion Investment in MP Semiconductor Projects.
- Spain’s Submer Group announced a $2 billion investment in Madhya Pradesh’s semiconductor and data centre sector.
