• India’s merchandise exports rose 18% year-on-year to $45.2 billion in May 2026.

• For April–May 2026–27, total exports stood at $88.91 billion, showing 16.09% growth.
• Exports to West Asia in May 2026 were $5.30 billion, slightly lower than $5.38 billion in May 2025.

UP Launches ₹5 Lakh Mukhyamantri Shikshak Cashless Chikitsa Yojana.

• Uttar Pradesh government finalized data of 3.5 lakh beneficiaries for the Mukhyamantri Shikshak Cashless Chikitsa Yojana.
• The scheme provides cashless medical treatment up to ₹5 lakh per year.
• It covers teachers, education department staff, and their dependent family members.
• Beneficiaries will receive a cashless health card for treatment at empanelled government and private hospitals.
• The scheme is implemented through SACHIS (State Agency for Comprehensive Health and Integrated Services) with a dedicated online portal for registration and data management.

Swiss Voters Turn Down Plan to Limit Population to 10 Million.

• Swiss voters rejected a referendum to cap Switzerland’s population at 10 million by 2050.
• The proposal was initiated by the Swiss People’s Party (SVP).
