APEDA Enables Odisha's 1st Dried Egg Powder Export to Austria.

• APEDA facilitated the first-ever commercial export of 22.6 metric tonnes of dried whole egg powder from Balangir, Odisha to Austria.
• The export was carried out by OVO Farm Pvt. Ltd.
• The dried egg powder is used in the food processing, bakery, confectionery, and pharmaceutical industries.
• APEDA is a statutory body under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, established in 1986.

NHAI Introduces Rajasthan's 1st MLFF-Based Tolling System on NH-48.

• NHAI launched Rajasthan's first Multi-Lane Free Flow (MLFF) tolling system at Daulatpura Toll Plaza on NH-48.
• The MLFF system enables barrier-less toll collection using ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) and FASTag.
• Vehicles can pass without stopping, reducing congestion and travel time.
• Insufficient FASTag balance triggers an e-notice; payment must be made within 72 hours.
• Failure to pay within 72 hours attracts double the normal toll fee, and repeated default may lead to FASTag blacklisting.
• NH-48 connects Delhi and Chennai and is part of the Golden Quadrilateral project.

Ladakh Introduces Strict Ban on Single-Use Plastics and Littering.

• Ladakh has banned single-use plastics and littering across the Union Territory.
• The ban prohibits items such as plastic cutlery, cups, plates, straws, thermocol decorations, plastic flags, and thin plastic banners.
• Penalty: ₹10,000 for stocking or selling banned plastic items.
• Littering Fine: ₹5,000 for littering in public places.
• Ladakh is a high-altitude cold desert with a fragile ecosystem, making environmental protection a priority.

India Secures 70th Rank in WEF Energy Transition Index 2026.

• India ranked 70th in the WEF Energy Transition Index (ETI) 2026, improving by 2 places from the previous year.
• India scored 54.9, with improvements in energy transition readiness and infrastructure.
• Top Ranked Country: Sweden (1st).
• The Energy Transition Index (ETI) is published annually by the World Economic Forum (WEF) in collaboration with Accenture.
• The index assesses 120 countries based on energy security, equity, and sustainability.

ADB Provides $10 Million Funding Support for Schoolnet India’s Digital Expansion.

• ADB partnered with Schoolnet India Limited to provide USD 10 million financing for expanding digital education infrastructure in India.
• The project aims to benefit 4.5 million students across 30,000 government schools.
• Infrastructure Support: Establishment of 1,000 computer labs and 58,000 digital classrooms.
• Teacher Training: Training of 56,000 teachers in digital teaching methods.
• This is ADB’s first private sector financing for a digital education project in India.
