Chennai Petroleum Corporation Granted Navratna Status, Becomes 28th CPSE.

  • On 19 June 2026, CPCL was granted Navratna status by the Government of India.
  • It became the 28th Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE).
  • CPCL was upgraded from Miniratna Category-I to Navratna.
  • Navratna status gives CPCL greater financial and operational autonomy.
  • The company can now invest up to ₹1,000 crore or 15% of its net worth in a single project without prior government approval.
  • CPCL is a subsidiary of Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) and functions under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.
