- India became the world’s No. 1 ship recycling nation in 2025.
- Achieved 35.4% global market share in ship recycling.
- Ship recycling volume increased to 2.99 million Gross Tons (GT).
- 115 ship recycling yards achieved compliance with the Hong Kong International Convention (HKC).
- India aims to increase capacity to 9 million LDT through Alang Ship Recycling Yard, Gujarat.
- Growth supported by the Recycling of Ships Act, 2019 and Maritime India Vision 2030.

- Launched India’s first Target-Date Life Cycle Fund series on 19 June 2026.
- Introduced two schemes:
- Zerodha Life Cycle Fund 2036 – 10-year maturity horizon.
- Zerodha Life Cycle Fund 2041 – 15-year maturity horizon.
- Minimum Investment: ₹100.
- Fund Manager: Kedarnath Mirajkar.
- Funds follow a dynamic asset allocation strategy, shifting from equity to safer assets as the target date approaches.
- Invests in equity, government securities, gold, silver, and arbitrage strategies.
Meghalaya Inaugurates Northeast’s Biggest Organic Spice Unit.
- Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman inaugurated Northeast India’s largest organic spice processing unit.
- The unit is located in Ri-Bhoi district, Meghalaya.
- Developed with an investment of ₹32 crore.
- It can process over 10,000 metric tonnes of organic spices annually.
- It is the first organically certified spice processing unit in Northeast India.
- The unit focuses on Lakadong turmeric, ginger, black pepper, and chilli.
- It will benefit around 5,500 organic farmers across Meghalaya and the Northeast.
- The project was established with support from MOVCDNER, MIDH, and IFAD.
Uttar Pradesh Gets India’s First Private Hybrid 2G Ethanol Project.
- the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas approved India’s first private-sector Hybrid 2G Ethanol Project.
- The project will be set up in Uttar Pradesh.
- It received ₹150 crore financial assistance under the PM JI-VAN Yojana.
- The biorefinery will produce 91 KLPD (kilolitres per day) of sustainable ethanol.
- It will use sugarcane bagasse and other agricultural residues as feedstock.
- The project aims to promote 2G ethanol production and support India’s E20 ethanol blending target.
Ladakh Inaugurates India’s First High-Altitude Floriculture Parks in Leh.
- Ladakh LG Vinai Kumar Saxena laid the foundation stone for India’s first high-altitude floriculture parks.
- The parks are being developed at Choglamsar and Stakna in Leh district.
- The Choglamsar park will cover 92,687 sq. metres and act as a model floriculture centre.
- The Stakna project will cover 1.02 lakh sq. metres for scientific flower cultivation.

- The projects will receive technical support from CSIR-IHBT, Palampur.
- The parks will cultivate ornamental flowers like Lilium, Gladiolus, and Tulips.
