• HAL Airport, Bengaluru became India’s first airport to introduce a satellite-guided helicopter approach.
• Uses RNP CAT H, a satellite-based navigation system for helicopters.
• Cuts approach time from 12 minutes to about 4 minutes.
• Enhances safety and all-weather operations.
• Particularly beneficial for air ambulances and search-and-rescue missions.

Param Pragya Supercomputing Facility Launched at IIT Delhi.

• PM Narendra Modi inaugurated Param Pragya, an AI-powered supercomputing facility, at IIT Delhi’s Sonipat campus on August 8, 2026.
• Purpose: Supports advanced AI research and high-performance computing (HPC).
• Research Funding: ₹1 lakh crore being arranged to boost research and innovation.
• Key Initiative: One Nation One Subscription provides access to global research journals.

Astrobase Develops India’s 1st 800 kN Reusable Rocket Engine.

• Astrobase Space Technologies unveiled Everest, India’s first privately built 800 kN reusable rocket engine.
• Uses liquid oxygen–methane and Full-Flow Staged Combustion (FFSC) technology.
• Delivers 800 kN thrust and is designed for reusable launch vehicles.
• Aims to enable launch-on-demand capability within 15 days.
• Developed with support from IN-SPACe’s Technology Adoption Fund.

Odisha Draws ₹41,748 Crore Investment in Food Processing Sector.

• Odisha secured ₹41,748 crore in investment commitments from 27 companies in food and agro-processing.
• Total proposals: ₹43,437 crore, including ₹41,748 crore through MoUs.
• Employment: Projects are expected to create 43,316 jobs.
• Seafood Target: Increase exports from ₹5,000 crore to ₹25,000 crore.
• Long-term Vision: Odisha aims for a USD 500 billion economy by 2036 and USD 1.5 trillion by 2047.

First Sea Export of GI-Tagged Mithila Makhana Reaches Australia.

• APEDA facilitated India’s first commercial sea shipment of GI-tagged Mithila Makhana to Australia.
• Quantity: 18 MT of premium raw Makhana from Darbhanga, Bihar.
• Exporter: M/s NIAD Green; Logistics: Jitban Supply Chain Pvt. Ltd.
• Farmer Benefit: Export generated 18% higher returns than prevailing market rates.
• Bihar accounts for about 85% of India’s Makhana production.
