Delhi Leads India in Own Revenue Share, Says RBI FY25 Data.

• Delhi topped India in own revenue share at 93.2% in FY25.
• Haryana ranked 2nd at 80.4%, followed by Telangana (78.4%), Karnataka (77.3%) and Tamil Nadu (75.5%).
• Manipur ranked lowest at just 10.0%, followed by Nagaland (12.5%) and Arunachal Pradesh (12.8%).
• The highest-lowest gap stood at 83.2 percentage points.
• Telangana had the highest guarantees burden as a share of GSDP.
• Himachal Pradesh recorded the highest pension burden.

Gujarat Unveils India’s 1st State Sports Genomics Programme.

• Gujarat launched India’s first state-level Sports Genomics Programme in Gandhinagar.
• The programme will use genetic and physiological profiling to identify and develop high-potential athletes.
• It will assess muscle composition, endurance, metabolism, recovery and injury susceptibility.
• The initiative aims to strengthen Gujarat’s athlete pipeline for the 2030 Commonwealth Games.

India Achieves 80% Reduction in Malaria Cases and Fatalities.

• India recorded nearly an 80% decline in malaria cases and deaths between 2015 and 2025.
• High-burden districts fell from 155 to 33.
• 160 districts reported zero indigenous malaria cases during 2022–2025.
• The remaining 33 high-burden districts accounted for 64% of cases and 54% of deaths in 2025.
• The government is using the Test, Treat and Track strategy to improve early diagnosis and treatment.
• District and Village Action Plans are being implemented in malaria-prone areas.
• Target: India aims to eliminate malaria by 2030, in line with the SDGs.

US and Venezuela Seal Historic 65 Billion-Barrel Oil Deal.

• US secures majority control over 65 billion barrels of Venezuela’s proven oil reserves.
• The deal aims to provide stable, low-cost crude to US refineries and help reduce fuel prices.
• It could generate around $209 billion for Venezuela’s treasury.
• Nearly $100 billion in private investment is expected in Venezuela’s energy sector.
• Venezuela has the world’s largest proven oil reserves, but current output is only about 1.25 million barrels per day.
• New exploration and production rights are expected to be awarded to private producers.
