1. Odisha's Balasore to get country's first thunderstorm research testbed
- The objective of setting up the thunderstorm testbed is to minimalise human fatalities and loss of property due to lightning strikes
- More than 350 people are killed on an average in lightning strikes in Odisha every year
- The state has lost 3,218 lives to lightning strikes in nine years till 2019-20
2. TN to get its fifth tiger reserve between Meghamalai and Srivilliputhur
- The location of the new tiger reserve will also enable it to be a buffer for Kerala’s Periyar Reserve Tigers.
- Tamil Nadu is set to get its fifth tiger reserve spread over one lakh hectares land under the Meghamalai Wildlife Sanctuary and Srivilliputhur Grizzled Squirrel Wildlife Sanctuary. This will be the 51st tiger reserve in the country
3. India, Afghanistan sign MoU to build Shahtoot Dam in Kabul
- India and Afghanistan signed an agreement to build the Shahtoot Dam in Kabul in order to provide drinking water facility in the Afghan capital.
4. Odisha to build memorial to honour fallen Covid warriors
- Covid-19 is once in a century pandemic. In order to keep it in the memory of people as well as to recognise the sacrifice and services rendered by the Covid warriors who have lost their lives fighting the pandemic, the government has decided to construct a Covid Warrior Memorial
- The Odisha government said Monday that it will construct Covid Warrior Memorial at a public park in Bhubaneswar in recognition of the sacrifice and services of Covid warrior

- Terming cow slaughter as a cognizable offence, violators can attract three to seven years of imprisonment under the anti-cow slaughter bill.
