1. Centre launches Mera Ration app to help beneficiaries of One Nation One Ration Card scheme

  • The Government of India launched the ‘Mera Ration’ mobile application on March 12 to help the beneficiaries of the ‘One Nation One Ration Card’ programme that aims at pan India portability of ration cards under the National Food Security Act (NFSA)
  • The app will help users who are ration card holders locate the nearest fair price shop It will prove useful to those who have just moved into a new area for purposes of livelihood or otherwise

  • Atmanirbhar Niveshak Mitra (ANM) will have is a dedicated digital investment promotion and facilitation team at Invest India through which domestic investors can directly connect or request meetings with the Invest India experts and discuss their specific investment or business-related matters.


3. J&K celebrates festival of Shivratri ‘Herath’

  • Festival Mahashivratri locally known as Herath in Kashmir is being celebrated across J&K by Kashmiri Pandit Community with religious fervour by offering “Watak Nath Pooja”.

4. Japan-Australia venture starts producing hydrogen from dirty coal

  • World-first trial project on safe export of hydrogen
  • A Japanese-Australian venture has begun producing hydrogen from brown coal in a A$500 million (US$390 million) pilot project that aims to show liquefied hydrogen can be produced commercially and exported safely overseas.
  • The important thing is hydrogen should be cost competitive, and Victorian brown coal is a cheap source of hydrogen
