In June 2021 as dozens of armored vehicles and artillery systems were captured by the Taliban. As per a recent report on july 4 2021 Taliban have captured around 700 trucks and battle tanks from the Afghan security forces.
There are estimated 70,000 Taliban fighters (terrorists) in Afghanistan. Who are capturing city after city. As per last reports, city of Kandahar is said to be captured by Taliban.
There are many voices rising in the USA, asking to take out the Embassy and Diplomats from Afghanistan in time.
US army trained Afghan Security forces are either surrendering or running to neighboring countries to save their lives. Looking at this situation, civilian government could fall to the terror group within months of US forces withdrawing.
Earlier, New York Times reported - US officials expect the entire withdrawal of their forces from the country will be completed in less than a week by the July 4 (USA Independence Day).
The top US general in Afghanistan, has warned that the worsening situation could lead to a civil war. Many civilians are taking up arms against the Taliban in support of the government forces in several Afghan provinces.
Impact on other counties
India
India already have many investments in Afghanistan, India has more to lose here. Indian foreign policy has a clear stance, they will not negotiate with Terrorists.
It is highly unlikely that India will have talks with Taliban There were few speculations in media, that Indian Govt. is in talks with Taliban, But Indian Govt. has said these are false mischievous news spread by some people.
China
As the USA is exiting, China will definitely enter the arena. China has said they are ready to talk to Taliban. China will like to extend CPEC to connect to Afghanistan.
Afghanistan has already signed China's belt and road initiative, although due to the presence of the USA there was no progress on this. Eventually, China will be the biggest gainer in this conflict.
Pakistan
Pakistan had earlier said that, If situation worsen, then Pakistan would close the borders with Afghanistan. But there are no recent statements from Pakistan on this.
