Dubai sets up special court to deal with money laundering.

  • The move is in line with the UAE's effort to strengthen the integrity of the financial system.
  • The new court in Dubai aims to enhance the global competitiveness of the UAE and Dubai while maintaining justice and transparency.
  • The court, which was established in accordance with the instructions of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, will allow the emirate to implement the national AML/CFT strategy.



Mansukh Mandaviya has been appointed as the Chairman of the Stop TB Partnership Board.

  • He will lead the efforts of the Stop TB Partnership Secretariat, partners, and the TB community at large, towards reaching the UN TB targets by 2022, a milestone moment in the effort to end TB by 2030.
  • India aims to end TB by 2025 while the UN aims to end TB by 2030.
  • He will take over as the Board Vice-Chair from 1 January 2022 for a period of three years.

The government launched the e-shram portal for workers in the unorganized sector.

  • After registration on the e-shram portal, the unorganized workers will not need to register separately for the social security schemes of the govt.
  • E-Shram Card containing 12 digit UAN will be valid throughout.
  • The portal will prove to be a big boost for last mile delivery of services.
  • If a worker is registered on the e-shram portal and meets with an accident,
  • He will be eligible for Rs 2.0 lakh on death or permanent disability
  • And Rs 1.0 lakh on partial disability and the government is always committed to the welfare of the workers.
  • The govt aims to register 38 crore unorganised workers, such as construction labourers, migrant workforce, street vendors and domestic workers, among others.
  • A national toll free number — 14434 — will also be launched to assist and address the queries of workers seeking registration on the portal.
