IIT Delhi Institute has set up a Center of Excellence on Quantum Technology.
- The Center of Excellence (CoE) on Quantum Technology will conduct research activities in the relevant field.
- The objective of the CoE is to bring synergy and coherence in the activities being carried out in the institute.
- It will also support principal investigators for more important projects from DST and other funding agencies, claims the institute.
Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu has presented the CSIR Innovation Award to 2 students of class 10th, Anushka and Rakshita Naik.
- The awards were presented to 2 class 10 students of Udupi district in a virtual ceremony.
- Those students are Anusha and Rakshitha Naik from Charamakki Narayana Shetty Memorial Government High School in Ardi Village.
- They received the award for their project named Gas Saving Kit.
- This kit would enable a family of four to source hot water for bathing as well as cooking food simultaneously.
- The award was sponsored by the Union Ministry of Science and Technology, which will reach the students in a week's time via post.
HAL signed a lease agreement with Alliance Air Aviation Limited for the supply of 2 civil Do-228 aircraft in Arunachal Pradesh.
- These civil Do-228 aircraft will be used for field operations in Arunachal Pradesh.
- HAL's General Manager, Transport Aircraft Division, Kanpur and Engineering Head of Alliance Air Aviation Limited signed the deal papers in Bengaluru.
- HAL Do-228 is a versatile aircraft suitable for operations in the North East.
- It has the capability of short take-off and landing, take-off and take-off from semi-prepared runway.
- This development has opened a new avenue for HAL in civil aviation as the company is keen to induct more numbers of HAL Do-228s.
Rajasthan's Sojat Mehndi and Assam's Judima Rice Wine have got GI tag.
- Homemade rice wine Judima from Assam and Sojat Mehndi (Henna) from Rajasthan have been awarded the Geographical Indication (GI) tag.
- Judima is a local fermented drink made from rice, made by the Dimasa community in Assam.
- Its name is derived from the words ju meaning wine and dima meaning belonging to the Dimasa.
- It is the first traditional Kadha to get GI tag in the entire Northeast.
- Sojat tehsil of Pali district in Rajasthan has natural geological structure, topography and drainage system, climate and soil suitable for cultivation of henna crop.

- 11 scientists have been honored in 2021 with the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize, announced on September 26, 2021, during the 80th Foundation Day of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR).
- Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award: India's highest science award given for outstanding Indian work in the field of science and technology.
