NABARD has approved a credit scheme for yak rearing in Arunachal Pradesh.

  • This credit scheme for yak rearing will help the shepherds to get loans to strengthen their livelihood.
  • The scheme was developed by the National Research Center on Yak (NRCY) located at Dirang in West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh.
  • NRCY works under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research.
  • The loan scheme introduced by NABARD for yak rearing was found viable in giving advances with the holding commercial banks.



The world's largest Khadi national flag was unfurled in Leh, Ladakh.

  • The world's largest national flag made of Khadi cloth has been installed in Leh, Ladakh on the occasion of 152nd birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on October 02, 2021.
  • The Khadi National Flag was inaugurated by the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, RK Mathur.
  • The tricolor is 225 feet long and 150 feet wide. Its weight is about 1,000 kg.
  • The flag has been prepared by the 57 Engineer Regiment of the Indian Army.



Facebook social media company has launched Creator Education Program in India.

  • The program will provide content creators with the opportunity to learn, earn and grow their communities on their platform and Instagram.
  • India has become the best place for creators to grow and earn a living.
  • Therefore, Facebook plans to do so by developing a range of creative tools to democratize expression.
  • For example, Reels is a great example of democratic creativity. On an average, more than 6 million reels are produced daily in India.
  • The social media platform is also offering monetization tools to help creators monetize through content.



Union Minister Anurag Thakur launched the month-long nationwide "Clean India Programme" in October 2021.

  • The Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has launched a month long Swachh Bharat program from October 01 to 31, 2021 as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations.
  • The nationwide cleanliness drive was inaugurated by Anurag Thakur, Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh on 1 October 2021.
  • The objective of the program is to create awareness, mobilize people and ensure their participation in cleaning up primarily single use plastic waste across the country.
  • The objective of this cleanliness campaign is to propagate the mantra of Clean India: Safe India.
  • The initiative is touted as the world's largest cleanliness drive, in which over 75 lakh tonnes of waste, mainly plastic waste, will be collected and processed in the Waste to Wealth model from different parts of the country.



Union Minister Amit Shah flagged off NSG's "Sudarshan Bharat Parikrama" car rally from Red Fort.

  • Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah flagged off All India Car Rally Sudarshan Bharat Parikrama of the National Security Guard (NSG) on October 02, 2021, as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, to celebrate 75th years of India’s Independence.
  • The car rally of NSG was flagged off from the historic Red Fort in Delhi. It will culminate on October 30, 2021 at the Police Memorial in New Delhi.
  • The month-long campaign will cover a 7,500 km long journey through 18 cities across 12 states, passing through important and historical places associated with the country's freedom movement and freedom fighters.
  • Historic places will include Kakori Memorial (Lucknow), Bharat Mata Mandir (Varanasi), Netaji Bhawan Barrackpore (Kolkata), Swaraj Ashram (Bhubaneswar), Tilak Ghat (Chennai), Freedom Park (Bengaluru), Mani Bhawan/August Kranti Maidan. Mumbai) and Sabarmati Ashram (Ahmedabad).
  • The rally has been organized under the aegis of Union Home Ministry.
