Indian Railways launches two long haul freight trains "Trishul", "Garuda" for South Central Railway.

These trains are twice or several times longer than the normal structure of freight trains and provide a very effective solution to the problem of capacity constraints in critical sections.
Trishul is the 1st long haul train of the South Central Railway (SCR) and carries 177 wagons, or the equivalent of three goods trains.
It was launched from Kondapalli station of Vijayawada Division to Khurda Division of East Coast Railway.
Train Garuda was flagged off from Raichur in Guntakal division to Manuguru in Secunderabad division.
Both long-distance trains had empty open coaches that were mainly used to load coal for thermal power stations.

The 2nd phase of Exercise Malabar 2021 between the Quad countries will be held in the Bay of Bengal from October 12 to 15, 2021.
The 1st phase of the mega wargame took place off the coast of Guam in the Western Pacific from 26-29 August 2021.
Exercise Malabar 2021 is the 25th edition of MALABAR.
The Indian Navy’s participation includes INS Ranvijay, INS Satpura, P8I Long Range Maritime Patrol Aircraft, and a Submarine.
Japan Maritime Self Defense Force (JMSDF), Royal Australian Navy (RAN) and United States Navy (USN) are other participants in the exercise.
Exercise MALABAR was first conducted in 1992 as a bilateral exercise between the Indian Navy and the US Navy in the Indian Ocean.
Later in 2015, Japan became a permanent member of the exercise.

The Gati Shakti scheme was announced by Mr Modi on Independence Day this year.
This will bring together 16 Ministries, including seven core infrastructure sectors, on one platform to synergise project planning across stakeholder ministries to avoid duplication, expedite clearances and plug gaps at the right time.
Gati Shakti platform was launched to provide information instantaneously.
It will allow for better coordination among ministries. Gati Shakti Scheme was launched with the aim of achieving three basic goals namely,

Seamless multimodal connectivity for facilitating easy movement of goods & people,
Improved prioritisation, optimal usage of resources, timely creation of capacities, and
Resolution of issues like disjointed planning, standardisation & clearances.

Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes-Finland) has won the F1 Turkish Grand Prix 2021 held on October 10, 2021.
This is his first title of this season.
Max Verstappen (Red Bull - Netherlands) finished 2nd while Sergio Perez (Mexico - Red Bull) finished 3rd.
Meanwhile, Lewis Hamilton finished 5th.

Reliance New Energy Solar Limited (RNESL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), has acquired 100 % stake in Chinese state-owned solar power company REC Solar Holdings AS (REC Group).
RNESL has acquired REC Group from China National Bluestar (Group) Company Limited for an enterprise value of $771 million.
This acquisition will enable Reliance to move closer to achieving its target of generating 100GW of solar power by 2030, and in turn support the country's global target of producing 450GW of renewable energy by 2030.
REC Group has three manufacturing facilities, two in Norway to manufacture solar grade polysilicon and one in Singapore to manufacture PV cells and modules.
With this acquisition, RNESL will become the owner of three manufacturing facilities of REL.
