NITI Aayog announced five top aspirational districts in the education sector.

  • NITI Aayog has announced the top five aspirational districts in the field of education for the month of September.
  • Bhoopalpalli in Telangana tops the ranking, followed by Chatra and Sahibganj in Jharkhand, Nuapada in Odisha and Jaisalmer in Rajasthan.
  • This is as per the Delta Ranking of NITI Aayog.

The cabinet approved to observe 15 November as Janjatiya Gaurav Divas.

  • The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has given its approval to declare 15th November as Janjatiya Gaurav Divas.
  • November 15 has been chosen because this date is the birth anniversary of Shri Birsa Munda, who is revered as Bhagwan (God) by tribal communities across the country.
  • Tribal Pride Day is dedicated to the brave tribal freedom fighters and their sacrifices for the country.
  • The day will be observed every year from now onwards to recognize the efforts of the tribals in preserving the cultural heritage and promoting the Indian values of valor, hospitality and national pride.



A new book "Finding a straight line between twists and turns" by Aseem Chawla.

  • Aseem Chawla, one of India's foremost tax lawyers and a well-known international tax and policy expert, in his new book Finding a Straight Line Between Twists and Turns - An Imperfect, Still Honest Reflections on the Indian Tax Landscape published by Matrix Publishers Released.
  • The book provides an in-depth analysis of the Indian tax landscape, both national and international, over a decade.



India ranks 10th in the Climate Change Performance Index.

  • India has been ranked 10th in the Global Climate Change Performance Index (CCPI) 2022 released by Germanwatch along with COP26.
  • In 2020 also India was ranked 10th.
  • India has retained its position as the top 10 best performing countries with high climate performance for the third year in a row.
  • Meanwhile, the top three spots in the overall rankings are once again vacant as none of the countries have performed well enough to earn a very high rating in the CCPI as a whole.
  • Denmark occupied the 4th position as the highest ranked country in the CCPI 2022, followed by Sweden (5th), and Norway (6th) respectively.
  • Other countries in the top 10 are the United Kingdom (7th), Morocco (8th) and Chile (9th).



RBI launches its first Global Hackathon named "Harbinger 2021".

  • The Reserve Bank of India has launched its first global hackathon named Harbinger 2021 - Innovation for Transformation.
  • Theme of HARBINGER 2021: Smarter Digital Payments.
  • The hackathon invites participants to identify and develop solutions that will help make digital payments accessible to underserved people,
  • Enhance the ease and user experience of payments,
  • and strengthen the security of digital payments and promote customer security.
  • Hackathon winner will get Rs. 40 lakh while the runner-up got Rs. 2 million
  • Eligibility Criteria: All entities, parties, or individuals (18 years and over) are eligible to enter into contractual agreements; Those who have a Minimum Viable Product (MVP), and who have an element of innovation.
