Govt plans "Heal by India" for positioning India as global source for health sector.

  • The government of India will be promoting the Heal by India initiative to improve India’s educational institutions in the health sector.
  • The Union Health Ministry recently organized a Chintan Shivir — Heal by India for two days.
  • Heal by India initiative is meant to generate job opportunities abroad for India’s trained professionals in the health sector and enhance education to churn out quality human resources in health, thus helping them become eligible to work anywhere in the world.



UK’s researchers found 180-Million-Year-Old Fossil of "Sea Dragon".

  • Researchers in the United Kingdom have found 180 million years old fossil remains of an ichthyosaur, popularly known as the sea dragon.
  • Researchers show one of the most important discoveries in the region as the fossil is the largest and most complete skeleton of its kind ever found in the United Kingdom.
  • Ichthyosaurs resembled dolphins in body shape and became extinct about 90 million years ago, after first appearing 250 million years ago.



Govt of India to launch "Meri Policy Mere Hath" to deliver crop insurance policies.

  • The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare will launch Meri Policy Mere Haath which is a door-to-door distribution campaign for providing crop insurance policies to farmers under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY).
  • The objective of the campaign is to ensure that all farmers are aware of all the information about their policies, land records, claim process and grievance redressal under PMFBY.
  • The Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) has completed 6 years of its implementation.
  • It was launched by PM Modi on 18th February 2016 at Sehore, Madhya Pradesh.

  • A book titled Dignity in a Digital Age: Making Tech Work for All of Us authored by Ro Khanna was released in February 2022.
  • He is an Indian-American Congressman.
  • The book sheds light on the effects of changing lifestyle patterns of Americans due to technological advancement.
  • It also mentions the digital divide, ie unequal access to technology and revenue, as one of the most pressing issues facing the United States.



Chetan Ghate appointed as director of Institute of Economic Growth.

  • Chetan Ghate has been appointed as the new Director of The Institute of Economic Growth. He replaces Ajit Mishra.
  • Chetan Ghate is a former member of the Reserve Bank of India’s first monetary policy committee between 2016-2020.
  • The Institute of Economic Growth, is an autonomous body and civil service training institute under the Government of India and is located in New Delhi.
