World Bank approved $47 million program for India’s Mission Karmayogi program.

• The World Bank has approved a $47 million project to support the Government of India's Mission Karmayogi.
• There are nearly 18 million civil servants employed across India, with approximately two-thirds at the state government and local authority level.
• The Project is aligned with the India Country Partnership Framework (CPF) FY18-22 which includes strengthening public sector institutions as one of the four areas of engagement for the World Bank in India.

Central African Republic becomes the 1st African country to adopt bitcoin as legal tender.

• The Central African Republic has become the second country in the world to adopt bitcoin as official currency, after El Salvador.
• It is the first country in Africa to adopt bitcoin as a reference currency.
• Central African Republic is among the world’s poorest countries.
• The capital is controlled by the government of this country, but much of the country is controlled by armed groups.

Bank of Baroda launched a new feature "bob World Gold" for senior citizens.

• Bank of Baroda, one of India’s leading public sector banks, announced the launch of bob World Gold – a new feature on its bob World mobile banking platform designed especially for seniors and the elderly.
• It is a unique digital banking platform that has been designed to provide its senior customers with a simple, smooth and secure mobile banking experience.
• This platform has easy navigation, large fonts, sufficient spacing and clear menus.

Aman Kadyan became the 1st Indian to qualify in the Taekwondo Grand Prix competition to be held in Italy.

• Taekwondo star Aman Kadyan has become the first Indian to qualify for the World Taekwondo Grand Prix.
• He is set to compete in Rome this year between June 3-5.
• Kadyan has previously won several international medals including a silver medal at the WT President Cup in the Oceania Region in 2019, a gold at the Indian Open International 2019, and a bronze each at the WT President Cup Asian Region 2018 and Israel Open 2018.

PM Modi launches Global Patidar Business Summit 2022 in Surat.

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated the Global Patidar Business Summit being held in Surat.
• The three-day business summit is being organised by Sardardham, an organisation devoted to the Patidar community in the state.
• Two earlier editions of the summit were held in 2018 and 2020.
• This conference is organized every two years.
