India ranked 54th in the WEF Travel and Tourism Development Index 2021.

  • In the WEF Travel and Tourism Development Index 2021, India has been ranked at 54th place. In 2019, India had ranked at 46th position.
  • However, the country still topped within the South Asia region.
  • This index is the Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Index’s direct evolution, having been published biennially for the last 15 years.
  • In the 2021 index, the top place has been grabbed by Japan. The country is followed by the United States, Spain, France, and Germany respectively. The score of India in this list is 4.2

Haryana's Captain Abhilasha Barak became the first woman fighter aviator of the Indian Army.

  • Captain Abhilasha Barak became the first woman to join the Army Aviation Corps as a helicopter pilot.
  • Barak hails from Haryana and is the daughter of a retired colonel.
  • She was commissioned in the Army Air Defence Corps in September 2018.
  • She was awarded ‘wings’ along with 36 army pilots by Army Aviation director general Lieutenant General Ajay Kumar Suri during a valedictory ceremony at the Nashik-based training school.
  • Barak became the army’s first woman combat aviator at a time when the National Defence Academy is set to induct its first batch of women cadets in June 2022.

Centre launches Swachh Survekshan 2023 under Swachh Bharat Mission Urban 2.0.

  • Union Government has launched the Eighth Edition of Swachh Survekshan -2023 under Swachh Bharat Mission Urban 2.0.
  • The theme of Swachh Survekshan -2023 is Waste to Wealth for garbage-free cities.

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the Swachh Bharat Mission Urban (SBMU) 2.0 on October 1 last year, with a vision of Garbage Free Cities.

Rolls-Royce India President Kishore Jayaraman conferred with the Honorary Order of the British Empire (OBE) by the Queen.

India won a total of 23 medals with 7 gold, 3 silver, and 13 bronze medals in Bahrain Para Badminton.
