India Post Payments Bank introduced issuer charges for AePS.
- India Post Payments Bank (IPPB), Department of Post (DoP), and Ministry of Communication have introduced issuer charges for the Aadhaar Enabled Payment System (AePS).
- AePS Issuer transaction charges will be in effect from June 15, 2022.
- AePS is a bank-led model that enables online interoperable financial inclusion transactions at the Point of Sale (MicroATM) using Aadhaar verification through any bank’s business correspondent.
- AePS provides six different transaction types.
- The monthly first 3 cumulative AePS Issuer transactions, such as cash withdrawal, cash deposit, and mini statement, will be provided free of charge.
- Over the free transaction limit, AePS issuer cash withdrawals and cash deposits will be charged Rs. 20 plus GST for each transaction and mini statement transactions will be charged Rs. 5 plus GST per transaction.
Country's first "Lavender Festival" inaugurated in Bhaderwah, Jammu.
- Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh has inaugurated the country's first Lavender Festival at Bhaderwah, Jammu.
Bhaderwah in the Doda district is the birthplace of India’s purple revolution.
- The Purple or Lavender Revolution was launched in 2016 by the Union Ministry of Science & Technology through the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research’s (CSIR) Aroma Mission.
- The aim of the mission is to support the domestic aromatic crop-based agro-economy by moving from imported aromatic oils to homegrown varieties.
India's long jumper Murali Sreeshankar won the gold medal.
- India’s ace long jumper Murali Sreeshankar won the gold medal at the 12th International Jumping Meeting in Greece with an effort of 8.31m.
- Sreeshankar was followed by Sweden's Theobias Montler and France's Jules Pomery with jumps of 8.27m and 8.17m to finish second and third respectively.
- It was Sreeshankar's first outdoor international meet after the Tokyo Olympics where he recorded a best effort of 7.69m.
BOB Financial launched co-branded contactless RuPay Credit Card with HPCL.
- Bank of Baroda Financial and Hindustan Petroleum (HPCL) in partnership with National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), have launched HPCL BoB co-branded contactless RuPay Credit Card.
- The card includes various features such as rewards for spending on utilities, grocery and departmental stores.
- This card can be used across merchants and ATMs globally through the JCB network.
- BOB Financial is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Bank of Baroda (BoB).
- The NSM is a joint initiative of Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and Department of Science and Technology (DST).
- Under the NSM, a total of 15 supercomputers have been installed across the country with compute capacity of 24 petaflops.
Japan’s MUFG Bank gets approval set up branch at GIFT City.
- MUFG Bank becomes the first Japanese bank to open a branch at Gujarat International Financial Tech City (GIFT City) in a bid to offer a wide range of banking services to both domestic and global clients.
- MUFG Bank has already taken all necessary approvals from the International Financial Services Centre Authority (India) and the Financial Services Agency (Japan) to set up a branch at GIFT City.
- MUFG had opened its first branch in Mumbai in 1953.
