PSLV-C53 successfully launched by ISRO.
- The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launched the PSLV-C53 with three Singapore Satellites onboard.
- The launch was scheduled for 6 PM from the Second Launch Pad at Satish Dhawan Space, Sriharikota.
- This is also the 55th mission of PSLV, often described as ISRO’s trusted workhorse, and the 15th one using the PSLV-Core Alone variant.
- PSLV-C53 is the second dedicated commercial mission of NewSpace India Limited (NSIL).
- It is designed to orbit the DS-EO satellites along with the two other co-passenger satellites from Singapore. NSIL is the commercial arm of ISRO.
Singapore’s T. Raja Kumar is new president of FATF.
- Indian- origin T Raja Kumar has been appointed as President of world’s anti-terrorism financing agency, Financial Action Task Force (FATF) for two years (July 2022 -June 2024).
- He succeeded Dr Marcus Pleyer, who served as the chief of the FATF.
- He will be responsible for enhancing the effectiveness of global anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing measures.
- He has a working experience in home ministry of Singapore and police force.
Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant becomes youngest wicketkeeper-batsman to score 2,000 Test runs.
- India’s Rishabh Pant become the youngest wicketkeeper-batter in the history of Test cricket to reach the landmark of 2,000 runs.
- Pant, 24, reached this landmark during the fifth and final Test against England at Edgbaston.
- Pant also broke the record for the fastest century by an Indian wicket-keeper batsman in England.
- He now holds the record for the third-fastest century by an Indian outside Asia.
- Pant also became the only Indian wicketkeeper-batsman to score two overseas hundred in a calendar year.
- Earlier, W Saha, MS Dhoni and Budhi Kunderan had achieved this feat.

ReNew Power, UNEP, SEWA collaborate to train women as solar technician.
- ReNew Power has collaborated with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and Self-Employed Women’s Association of India (SEWA) to launch Project Surya.
- Aim: To train low-income women salt pan workers to work as solar technicians.
- Women salt pan workers will be trained as solar panel and solar pump technicians at Dhokavada village in the Patan district of Gujarat.
- The programme will be supported by the government’s National Skill Development Corporation.
