Researchers at IIT Madras develop AI tool called "Pivot" to guide personalized cancer diagnosis.

• Researchers at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras have developed an artificial intelligence tool that can identify cancer-causing genes.
• The AI tool, Pivot, can predict cancer-causing genes in an individual thus assisting in not only reducing the side-effects of drugs but also in better recovery for patients.
• The AI prediction model has been built for three different types of cancer including Breast Invasive Carcinoma, Colon Adenocarcinoma and Lung Adenocarcinoma.
• The tool is based on a machine learning model that classifies genes as tumour suppressor genes, oncogenes or neutral genes.
• Cancer is an uncontrolled growth of cells that can occur due to mutations in oncogenes or by tumor suppressor genes or both.

India becomes 68th country to join Interpol's child sexual abuse database.

• India joined the Interpol's international child sexual exploitation (ICSE) database which will allow it to draw links between victims, abusers and crime scene using audio-visual data.
• India is the 68th country among the total 295 members of the Interpol to have access to this database and software, which will be available to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), nodal body for Interpol coordination in India.
• The International Child Sexual Exploitation (ICSE) database uses video and image comparison to analyse child sexual exploitation material (CSEM) and make connections between victims, abusers and places.

Uttar Pradesh became the 1st state in the country to have 13 expressways, out of which work is going on seven.

• Uttar Pradesh has become the first state in the country to have 13 expressways.
• Of these 13 expressways having a total length of 3,200 kilometers, work is going on, on seven while six expressways are operational.
• Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 296-km-long Bundelkhand Expressway on July 16 and with its inauguration Bundelkhand will be directly connected to Delhi.
• The Bundelkhand Expressway will connect people with Delhi and other states as well.
• This will benefit the people of Chitrakoot, Banda, Mahoba, Hamirpur, Jalaun, Auraiya and Etawah districts. People will get the benefit of connecting Bundelkhand with Delhi directly and Bundelkhand will be free from the stain of backwardness.

Nagpur Metro and NHAI set a new record for building 3.14 km long double decker flyover.

• National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) & Maharashtra Metro achieved world record for constructing the longest double-decker (3.14 km) viaduct in Nagpur.
• The longest viaduct with highway flyover and metro rail supported on single column piers.
• Maximum metro stations (3) constructed on a double-decker viaduct are recognized by Asia Book of Records & India Book of records.
• Asia Book of Records and India Book of Records have recognised this engineering feat.
• They have also recognised another record of constructing three metro stations on a double-decker viaduct.

Abhishek Verma and Jyothi Surekha Vennam won the bronze medal in the mixed team archery event at the World Games 2022.

• Asian Games gold medalist Abhishek Verma and Jyothi Surekha Vennam won bronze in the compound mixed team archery event at the World Games 2022 in Birmingham, Alabama, USA.
• In the bronze medal match, the Indian archery duo beat Andrea Becerra and Miguel Becerra of Mexico 157-156.
• This is India's first World Games medal in archery and its fifth overall since the event's start in 1981.
• India has previously won medals in snooker, powerlifting, and badminton.
